Division II Coaching Changes
/The two teams that met for the Division II Championship back in December, Northwest Missouri State and North Alabama, have named new head coaches for the 2017 season. Adam Dorrel left the champions of NW Missouri State to join the FCS ranks at Abilene Christian in Texas after winning back to back FCS championships - and three overall. While Bobby Wallace retired at North Alabama after two successful runs with the program that spanned 15 years and netted himself three Division II championships as well from 1993 thru 1995.
Ironically both schools stayed in house, and both named their defensive coordinators as head coach. Rich Wright has been the Bearcat's defensive coordinator for the past six years, and he has been a part of three national championships with NW Missouri State. Meanwhile the Lions elevated Chris Wills who has been their DC for the last five seasons, and his defenses has helped UNA win four straight Gulf South championships.
Defense does win championships...
