Newly Scheduled Series

Have to admit that I got excited when I visited FBSchedules.com and saw that former ACC rivals Maryland and Virginia agreed to play a home-and-home series in 2023 and 2024.  I know that it is a ways out there, but seeing these two foes play again is great news to their schools and their fans.  In case anyone is wondering, the Terps won the last meeting in 2013, 27-26.  :)

Virginia also announced that they will be playing VMI in 2020.  These two former Southern Conference teams played their first game against each other in 1893, and have competed 83 times over the years.  Unfortunately, they have only played three times in the last 30 years.  The most interesting tidbit in this series is that the Keydets quit the first game against UVA because they felt that the game was fixed.

There was one other home-and-home series that was announced yesterday.  Two former WAC opponents, Arizona and Colorado State agreed to play in 2027 and 2028.  They have met 17 times on the field dating back to 1926.
